Terms of Use

By downloading, accessing, or using Calgrove AI (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to the mobile app and website.

Calgrove AI is an AI-powered nutrition and calorie tracking app that:

• Analyzes photos of food to estimate calories, protein, carbs, and fats
• Lets you track meals, weight, and progress on your device
• Optionally backs up your data to your personal Apple iCloud
• Integrates with Apple Health when you allow it
• Uses Sign in with Apple for account access

Your meal logs, photos, weight history, goals, and similar content are stored on your device. If you enable backup or sync, that content is stored in your personal iCloud account.

Calgrove does not store that content on our servers. The only account information we store is the email provided through Sign in with Apple, so we can manage your account.

You are responsible for keeping your device secure and for managing your own iCloud backups. Deleting the app or clearing iCloud data may permanently remove your local history.

Access to certain features requires Sign in with Apple. You agree to use your own Apple ID and to keep your device and Apple account secure.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity. You may request deletion of your account email through the app or by contacting us.

Calgrove AI offers free features and optional premium subscriptions (“Calgrove Pro”).

• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store
• Payment is charged in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• Free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends
• You can cancel anytime in App Store → Subscriptions
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies

Calgrove AI is not a medical service. The Service is for informational and educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

• Nutritional estimates from AI may not be 100% accurate
• Accuracy depends on photo quality, food complexity, and portion estimation
• Do not rely on this app for medical emergencies
• Consult a healthcare professional before starting any diet or if you have diabetes, eating disorders, heart conditions, or are pregnant

You retain ownership of content you create in the app, including meal photos and diary entries. That content stays on your device and, if enabled, your iCloud.

When you use AI scan features, you allow temporary processing of a meal photo solely to return a nutrition estimate in the app. We do not claim ownership of your food logs or photos, and we do not keep them as stored user content on Calgrove servers.

You agree not to use the Service to submit content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes others' rights.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse engineer or decompile the app
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service
• Impersonate others or misuse Sign in with Apple
• Use automated systems to abuse the Service

The Service, including its design, code, AI features, and branding, is owned by Calgrove AI and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calgrove AI is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including health issues resulting from reliance on nutritional estimates, or loss of local or iCloud data.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the past twelve months.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We may update these Terms by posting the revised version and updating the “Last updated” date.

Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Ending your account does not automatically delete local or iCloud data on your devices — you control that storage.

If you downloaded Calgrove AI from the Apple App Store:

• These Terms are between you and Calgrove AI, not Apple
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app
• Apple is not responsible for product warranties or claims related to the app
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms
• Sign in with Apple and iCloud are Apple services governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy

Before filing a legal claim, please contact us to try to resolve the dispute informally. These Terms are governed by applicable law. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis.
